Tak­ing steps to sup­port church

Mem­bers of Blan­tyre Old Par­ish Church put their best feet for­ward dur­ing a spon­sored walk around the town.

Dozens of peo­ple took part in the an­nual event to raise funds for the church.

The walk­ers amused passers-by with an ar­ray of fancy dress out­fits, in­clud­ing the Rev Sarah Ross who donned a 1920s flap­per girl out­fit.

The best-dressed prize was awarded to El­iz­a­beth Freer, who was kit­ted out as Edna Mode from‘the In­cred­i­bles’. Sec­ond prize went to Tony Scott as Flash with third go­ing to the Rev Ross.

In the chil­dren’s sec­tion it was Har­ris Stir­ling in first place, by Aaron Stir­ling and Maya Craw­ford.

£1575 has been raised from the event so far. Billy Gal­lacher, spokesman for the church, thanked ev­ery­one who took part and David Mck­in­non of Blan­tyre Bowl­ing Club for judg­ing the fancy dress.
