Taking steps to support church
Members of Blantyre Old Parish Church put their best feet forward during a sponsored walk around the town.
Dozens of people took part in the annual event to raise funds for the church.
The walkers amused passers-by with an array of fancy dress outfits, including the Rev Sarah Ross who donned a 1920s flapper girl outfit.
The best-dressed prize was awarded to Elizabeth Freer, who was kitted out as Edna Mode from‘the Incredibles’. Second prize went to Tony Scott as Flash with third going to the Rev Ross.
In the children’s section it was Harris Stirling in first place, by Aaron Stirling and Maya Crawford.
£1575 has been raised from the event so far. Billy Gallacher, spokesman for the church, thanked everyone who took part and David Mckinnon of Blantyre Bowling Club for judging the fancy dress.
