Teenager cleared of Foot­ball Act charge

A Mother­well teenager has walked free from court af­ter be­ing cleared of a charge against him un­der the Of­fen­sive Be­hav­iour at Foot­ball Act.

Lewis Faulkner (18) ap­peared at Hamil­ton Sher­iff Court last week for trial and main­tained his plea of not guilty.

He de­nied the charge against him which was al­leged to have taken place in Mother­well’s Air­bles Road fol­low­ing Mother­well’s clash with Rangers on Au­gust 6.

The teenager, of Edi­son Court, was ac­cused of, while act­ing with oth­ers, en­gag­ing in be­hav­iour that was likely to in­cite pub­lic dis­or­der by shout­ing, swear­ing, lash­ing out with his arms and strug­gling with po­lice.

How­ever, at his trial Faulkner was found not guilty of the charge against him and he was free to leave the dock.
