Still time to get on your marks for town’s 10k
Runners have until midnight this Sunday (September 16) to sign up for Hamilton’s 10k.
More than 600 people have already signed up for the Hamilten, which will take place in the town on Saturday, September 22.
The event is being organised by the Hamilton Business Improvement District (BID) and will start and finish at Castle Street.
The route will include Low Parks Museum, the Palace Grounds, the Davie Cooper Memorial and Strathclyde Park.
All participants will receive a medal and there will be prizes awarded the winners of each category: 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female overall; 1st, 2nd and 3rd senior male and female; 1st, 2nd and 3rd vet 40 male and female; and 1st, 2nd, 3rd vet 50 male and female.
The race will begin at 9.30am and there will be a stage area with music to entertain spectators until the runners return.
Clyde 2’s Gina Mckie will be giving a commentary as the runners return to Castle Street. There will also be a stage set up in Strathclyde Park playing music and offering encouragement to runners, with water provided around the halfway point.
Entering the Hamilten 10k is very simple. All you have to do to is log on to www.entrycentral.com and look for the Hamilten logo.
