Rotarians gatherfor meeting
Members of the Rotary Club of Hamilton gathered last Thursday evening.
The guest speaker was Quarter man Gary Walker, the scientific and regulation services manager at Glasgow City Council. He spoke about Future City Glasgow, a programme to become a world-leading ‘smart’ city.
He provided many examples of the ambitious £24 million program which delivers wide-ranging integration of services provided for the city’s staff, residents and visitors – including energy, health, public transport and intelligent street lighting.
Rotarians meet every Thursday at Hamilton Golf Club at 6.15pm. Tom Purdie will talk tonight (September 13) on ‘The Ultimate Sacrifice’. Next Thursday (September 20) Dr Matthew Harvey’s topic will be ‘Retrieval’ and on September 27 Margaret Morton will discuss ‘How Not To Run A Business’.
