MSP’S pharmacy visit
Central Scotland MSP Margaret Mitchell visited Boots Pharmacy at Hillhouse Road.
During her visit the politician learned about what the pharmacy is doing in the community and the opportunities they provide to trainee pharmacists.
The store supports health board initiatives, acts as a food bank collection point and partners with a charity to provide career development talks and mock interviews to support young people.
The team at the Hillhouse pharmacy recently won Store of the Year in the Boots Best of the Best awards, and were nominated for Pharmacy Team of the Year at the Chemist and Druggist Awards earlier this year.
Mrs Mitchell said:“it was pleasure to meet up with the team at Boots in Hillhouse, who work tirelessly to provide a first-class service to the community.
“I believe that by giving community pharmacists access to appropriate patient records, and more autonomy over prescriptions, residents may be better served by all pharmacies to meet their health care needs.”
