Hamilton Advertiser - - NEWS -

As the news of 19 weeks of roadworks emerged this week, concerned motorists took to the Advertiser’s social media channels to express their views.

Many tagged and shared the story in a bid to circulate the details while others were quick to comment about the long roadworks.

Ceira Lennon had concerns about the town’s fire service, based on Bothwell Road.

She posted on Facebook: “What will happen when the fire brigade need out to an emergency and both lanes are gridlocked? Could potentially be disastrous. Will also cause a knock-on effect in all surrounding areas.

“Bothwell is awful just now never mind additional traffic to and from Hamilton.”

Alison Brown commented: “That’s all we are needing. The buses are bad enough to and from Bothwell.”

Eileen Muir said:“why all this disruption at holiday time? As if it wasn’t bad enough with all the extra traffic.”

Mary Mone posted:“the introduction of the Bothwell roundabout traffic lights already causes congestion on Bothwell
