Police appeal after serious assault
Police officers are releasing images of a man and a woman that they believe may be able to assist their investigation into a serious assault which happened in Motherwell on Saturday, September 8.
Around 9pm on the Saturday, a 60-yearold man was standing on Windmillhill Street, Motherwell, near to the New Century Bar, Motherwell, when he was assaulted and left needing hospital treatment.
Officers believe that the man and woman shown in the images here may have information that can assist them with their enquiries and would ask any members of the public who recognise them to contact them.
The man is described as white, of medium to stocky build, aged between 35-45 years of age, around 6ft 1in in height, with short light- coloured hair. He is shown in the image wearing a light-coloured shirt, black jacket and jeans.
The woman is described as white, aged between 30-40 years of age, around 5ft 6ins in height with shoulder-length blonde hair, and of slim build.
She is shown in the image wearing a green dress, dark jacket and carrying a small black handbag.
Police Constable Stephen Morrison, Wishaw Police Office, said: “I am appealing to local people in the area who may have seen or heard something related to this incident who perhaps didn’t realise the relevance at the time.
“It may not have seemed unusual then but in the context of the crime taking place, it could be vital information which could assist our investigation.
“I would also appeal to anyone who recognises the man and woman shown in the images, or the persons themselves, to contact police at the earliest opportunity.”
