Skips will help the lo­cal area

Skips will be placed in Ud­ston and Hill­house this month as part of a new ini­tia­tive.

As part of on-go­ing ef­forts to help im­prove the lo­cal area, the new­ly­formed Hous­ing & En­vi­ron­ment work­ing Group have suc­cess­fully se­cured fund­ing from the Com­mu­nity Choices bud­get to place skips at dif­fer­ent lo­ca­tions.

There will be two skips in Ud­ston on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 24, be­tween 8am-8pm (or un­til skips are full). These will be lo­cated at Mil­ton Ter­race, Ud­ston and Gor­don Road (Farm Road en­trance).

An­other two skips will be in Hill­house at Fereneze Cres­cent and Dunkeld Place, on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 25, be­tween 8am-8pm (or un­til skips are full).

Skips will be se­curely locked overnight.

Should you re­quire as­sis­tance with mov­ing items to the skip (cri­te­ria ap­plies) please con­tact Com­mu­nity Links on (01698) 827583 to ar­range a col­lec­tion time, no later than Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 19. If you do not book in ad­vance, they can­not guar­an­tee an up­lift. Per­mit­ted waste items: Bricks, rub­ble, wood, metal, hard core, fur­ni­ture, fur­nish­ings, fit­tings (non-elec­tri­cal), elec­tri­cal goods, com­puter tow­ers and screens, gas cook­ers, plas­tic, pack­ag­ing (in­clud­ing card­board, plas­tics, poly­styrene), do­mes­tic waste such as food and food pack­ing, soil (not con­tam­i­nated with as­bestos or oil). Pro­hib­ited waste items: Tyres, fridges/freez­ers, as­bestos, haz­ardous waste (in­clud­ing med­i­cal waste of any kind), gyproc and plas­ter­board, house­hold and ve­hi­cle bat­ter­ies, com­pressed gas cylin­ders/bot­tles (full or empty), sol­vents (such as paint and glue) and other chem­i­cals (pro­cess­ing flu­ids, bleach, de­ter­gent).
