Band-ing together against bullying

Hamilton Advertiser - - ALL ABOUT LANARKSHIRE -

Taylor High pupils were entertained by local band Single By Sunday.

And the performance for the second years also had a serious message, as the children learned about cyber-bullying.

A school spokesperson said:“the band used the medium of song to convey a very important and topical message on cyber-bullying, something which is experienced by many internet users at some point in their lives.

“How to deal with cyber-bullying is an important skill for our young people to acquire, both in terms of identifying cyber-bullying and having strategies to deal with it. Lots of good advice was offered and awareness raised regarding what constitutes bullying behaviour.

“Many thanks to Patricia Rooney, acting depute head teacher, for organising this event – and the band rocked!”

Meanwhile, the school’s annual Macmillan coffee morning was a huge success, raising £1323.

Organisers would like to say a huge thank you also goes to all the pupils and staff for contributing to this worthy cause with such generosity.
