Charity Chef Challenge
Raising money for The Murray Parish Trust
Hampshire foodies gathered at Thornden School recently to enjoy a Charity Chefs’ Challenge starring teams of chefs from the South’s top hotels; Lainston House Hotel Winchester, and Southampton Harbour Hotel as well as Chocolate masters and winners of the 2016 / 2017 Bake Off; Crème de la Crème.
The show, hosted by Chef Alex Aitken included a ‘pie challenge’ round, 30 minute main course and a mystery ingredients round for dessert champions Mark Tilling and Ian Mark. Sponsors, donors and members of the audience were invited to taste and judge each round, and the audience voted for their favourite dishes. With a raffle and an auction also taking place, the evening raised £11,336,77 for The Murray Parish Trust. Their government match funding will double the amount donated to the new dedicated Paediatric A&E trauma unit at University Hospital Southampton.
