Brunel boffin third in list of disabled academics
PROFESSOR Peter Beresford OBE has been named in a list of the top 10 most influential disabled people in academia.
The professor of social policy and director of the Centre for Citizen Participation at Brunel University, in Kingston Lane, Uxbridge, and chairman of the Shaping Our Lives network, came third in a list compiled by the Disability News Service.
Prof Stephen Hawking and senior lecturer at Norwich Medical School, Dr Tom Shakespeare, were named as first and second respectively by a panel.
The university has been named as one of London’s top universities for student satisfaction, according to the National Student Survey (NSS).
Results show that 89 per cent of students were satisfied overall with their experience at university – up two per cent on last year.
