Cre­ativ­ity fu­elled with tanker nam­ing con­test

CRE­ATIVE young­sters are be­ing called on to name an oil tanker which de­liv­ers fuel across the bor­ough.

Ad­vance Fu­els, based at Hare­field Oil Ter­mi­nal, in Harvil Road, wants Hare­field chil­dren up to the age of 11 to sug­gest a name in­spired by Lon­don and Lon­don­ers.

The win­ning tanker will be vis­i­ble for all to see while on its daily de­liv­ery routes in Uxbridge, Wat­ford, Wem­b­ley, Ac­ton, Kingston, Kew and Rich­mond.

Alex Ward, re­gional man­ager at Ad­vance Fu­els, said: “We are look­ing for new names for our Cer­tas En­ergy oil tankers and are ap­peal­ing for lo­cal school chil­dren to let their imag­i­na­tions run wild to help us do this. Mul­ti­ple name sug­ges­tions are wel­come and the win­ning name will be printed onto the tanker per­ma­nently.”

As well as see­ing their cho­sen name on the tanker, the win­ner will re­ceive a £150 book voucher for their school and a model tanker.
