Creativity fuelled with tanker naming contest
CREATIVE youngsters are being called on to name an oil tanker which delivers fuel across the borough.
Advance Fuels, based at Harefield Oil Terminal, in Harvil Road, wants Harefield children up to the age of 11 to suggest a name inspired by London and Londoners.
The winning tanker will be visible for all to see while on its daily delivery routes in Uxbridge, Watford, Wembley, Acton, Kingston, Kew and Richmond.
Alex Ward, regional manager at Advance Fuels, said: “We are looking for new names for our Certas Energy oil tankers and are appealing for local school children to let their imaginations run wild to help us do this. Multiple name suggestions are welcome and the winning name will be printed onto the tanker permanently.”
As well as seeing their chosen name on the tanker, the winner will receive a £150 book voucher for their school and a model tanker.
Visit www.certasenergy. co.uk/namethetanker for further information and to enter the competition.
The closing date for the competition is Sunday, August 31.
Winners will be announced within 28 days of the closing date.
