Children’s library at charity shop

Harefield Gazette - - NEWS -

A CHARITY shop has extended its goodwill to young customers by offering children use of a free library.

All Aboard, in Ruislip High Street, is inviting children and teenagers to share its unwanted books and take out other secondhand books that catch their eye.

Retail project manager Claire McEwan, said: “Our first day went really well with lots of books being taken and we are now in need of more for others to take and enjoy.

“We get so many children’s books donated, some of which we are unable to sell for one reason or another, so we decided to give them away and encourage young minds to read.

“It’s been such a fun project. If it’s a success here in Ruislip we would like to see one in every All Aboard shop, of which there are 18 across London and one in Manchester,” she said.

All Aboard helps more than 50 UK charities including Ovarian Cancer Action, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Macmillan Cancer Support and Barts Charity.
