Neighbours’ lunch boosts hospice fundraising drive
Firm’s managers cook up a tasty treat for their hungry colleagues
HARLINGTON Hospice has been given a boost by one of its neighbours.
Data storage company Rackspace, of Millington Road, Hayes, recently held a charity lunch at its offices and gave the proceeds to Harlington Hospice, situated up the road in St Peter’s Way, Harlington.
Senior managers at the firm prepared, cooked and served lunch to colleagues in exchange for a donation.
The event raised £304 for the hospice and an equal amount for the British Heart Foundation.
In another fundraiser on Wednesday, September 17, staff from the offices of GlaxoSmithKline, the pharmaceutical company based in Stockley Park, will voluntarily run the hospice’s shops in Ickenham, Ruislip Manor and West Drayton.
They will compete to raise the most money through ‘their’ shop on the day and install a window display in competition with their colleagues.
