Cliona takes a cut for charity
Girl gives hair to Little Princess Trust
SHE had never had so much as a trim in her life, but for Cliona Henderson what felt like the cruellest cut was an act of pure kindness.
The 11-year-old, from Newdigate Road, Harefield, has become the latest to join the ranks of girls donating some of their hair to the Little Princess Trust.
The trust uses the tresses to make wigs for cancer sufferers who have lost their hair due to their treatments.
Cliona went a step further and also asked for sponsorship for the charity Bliss, which works with premature babies.
She was aiming to raise £150, but at the time of going to press her total stood at £206.
“I chose Bliss as my twin brothers were born nearly two months prematurely and I want to help other babies like them,” said Cliona.
“They are now four and are doing very well.”
The hairdresser who clipped off the locks, Teri Jarczok of TML Hair in Newdigate Road, donated her fee for creating Cliona’s new style to Bliss.
