Independents’ celebrate local trade

Harefield Gazette - - NEWS -

SHOPPERS joined a special street party to support independent traders in Northwood Hills.

The second Independents’ Day, held along Joel Street, saw shop owners offer special discounts and promotions and set up shop along the high street.

People could enjoy street food, entertainment from singers and musicians and fun activities for youngsters.

The event, run by the high street’s independent businesses in conjunction with Northwood Hills Residents’ Association, was the first official chance to show off the refurbished Northwood Hills high street which has been part of Hillingdon Council’s town centre improvement programme funded by the Mayor of London .

Independents’ Day was set up to encourage people to shop local, support shop owners and highlight the variety of independent businesses available in Northwood Hills.
