Manslaughter charge for pair
TWO men were charged with manslaughter after an assault ended in a father-of-five’s death.
Rakesh Desoura, a tour operator, who was known as George, died after an argument broke out near the parade of shops in Ryefield Avenue, Hillingdon, on Thursday, September 18.
Police officers called at 12.55pm to ‘reports of an assault’ at a property in the same road and discovered the 42-year-old unconscious and being treated by London Ambulance Service staff.
He died at the scene at around 2.10pm and the result of the postmortem held the following day gave the cause of death as ‘a coronary heart attack caused by an assault’.
Harkitan Singh Tiwana, 55, of Appletree Avenue, Uxbridge, and Bikram Multani, 30, of Dudley Road, Southall, were charged with manslaughter and will appear at the Old Bailey on October 6. An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
