Stacks of work on centre roof

Harefield Gazette - - NEWS -

YIEWSLEY: Chimney stacks have been removed from Hillingdon Tuition Centre, in Providence Road, in response to fears about health and safety.

Hillingdon Council’s cabinet reported that emergency work was completed in June. More work to the windows, roof, pipes and valley-gutters has started and will be completed during the half-term holiday.

Jean Palmer, deputy chief executive and corporate director of residents’ services, said: “As part of the centre’s annual maintenance review, it was decided to remove the chimneys. The chimneys were obsolete and could present health and safety issues.”
