EII has passed the toughest test of all – the kids test! The floating classroom, which is owned and operated by environmental charity Groundwork South, has had a brand new demonstration kitchen fitted along with a new bar, electric generator and a new set of batteries.

Children from Whitehall Junior School, in Cowley Road, Uxbridge, and Bishop Winnington-Ingram School, in Southcote Rise, Ruislip, were treated to a cruise up the Grand Union Canal from Uxbridge to the Colne Valley Park above Denham to celebrate the refit on Thursday, October 9,

Then once the children had gone, Elsdale’s sponsors, including staff from the Uxbridge office of food company General Mills, and caterer Thomas Franks, enjoyed a cocktail at the licensed bar on board.
