Harefield Gazette - - NEWS -

PINK ladies have raised more than £500 for a cancer charity during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Old friends Iris Ellis, Julie Rhodes, Helen Forrest, Linda Clark and Margaret Curran organised a Pink Friday event at the Ramada Hotel, in Long Drive, South Ruislip, to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

It is the second Pink Friday event the ladies, some of whom worked together at Sainsbury’s opposite the hotel, have organised.

Mrs Ellis, who lives in Harvey Road, South Ruislip, said: “We did it last year and it was such a success that we decided to do it again.

“We had homemade cakes, a raffle, and games. It was great fun to organise with my ‘partners in crime’ and raise more than £500.”

South Ruislip ward councillors Allan Kauffman and Judy Kelly joined around 50 people enjoying Pink Friday.
