Try out a bike and see if you like it
BUDDING cyclists have been flocking to a scheme designed to encourage them to get into the bicycle lifestyle.
Hillingdon Council launched the cycle loan scheme in March, and since then 59 people have taken the chance to find out if bike ownership suits them by paying £20 to loan one alongside safety equipment for a month, and then having the opportunity to purchase them.
Councillor Keith Burrows (Conservative), cabinet member for planning, transportation and recycling, said: “People across the borough are using our cycle loan scheme and realising the positive impact cycling can have on their lives.
“If you would like to do more exercise, spend time outdoors or try a different way to commute, riding a bike could be perfect for you. If you would like to borrow a bike from the council, get in touch.”

Ayomi Gure, 38, from north Hillingdon who decided to purchase the bike after entering into the loan scheme, said: “I had so much fun with my two young children, exploring Hillingdon on our bikes. We discovered places we had never noticed before.”
