Long list of good work by council
HAVING seen a letter in the Gazette stating that the lights at Ruislip Manor are garish and cheap looking, I just had to write to say how much I love the overhaul the railway bridge has had ( Pink/blue lights a waste of our money, Letters, October 8).
The bridge now looks absolutely brilliant, and it really defines Ruislip Manor as a distinct community.
I’ve never seen the Manor in such a good condition following the council refurbishment, and the shops there are becoming more busy and the whole area more vibrant by the day.
In fact, I’d like to say a huge ‘well done’ to Hillingdon Council for all its work around the borough in recent years.
So much has been introduced and improved. To list just a few: the refurbished libraries, the work at Ruislip Lido, the leisure centres, the low parking fees in car parks, renovation work in Northwood Hills, Eastcote and Ruislip Manor, the lovely flowering baskets that have been put out in high streets this year, the Gold card, the constant work on resurfacing roads – I could go on and on.
