Multi-storey might be parking answer

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION - DAVE ROBINS Road

I AM slightly baffled by Dilyana Manolova’s letter (Gazette, October 8) as I have had plenty of paperwork from Hillingdon Council about our new Parking Management Scheme and there are also several notices up in my road on the subject.

I’m not a car owner myself but I know that my neighbours are relieved that they can park outside their homes again during the day.

I do wonder though where many people are going to park in West Drayton in future with the vast number of new flats being built here; parking will only get worse when Crossrail draws more commuters into the town.

What will parking be like in five years’ time? Has the council made provision for parking spaces instead of filling every vacant scrap of land with new dwellings? Might it not be an idea to build a multi-storey car park somewhere round here instead?
