Custody death: still waiting result

Harefield Gazette - - NEWS -

THE Independent Police Complaints Commission says it is still waiting for the post-mortem examination results on a man who died in police custody in Uxbridge.

Richard Brian Freeman, 57, was found collapsed at the police station in Warwick Place on the morning of Tuesday, June 24, and died shortly afterwards.

Officers had arrested him in Peachey Lane, Cowley, the previous afternoon at about 3.30pm, on suspicion of causing damage to a car.

West London coroner’s office said a post-mortem examination was carried out on Mr Freeman, of St Christopher’s Road, Cowley, on Wednesday, June 25, the day after he died.

The results have yet to be recorded in the case file, said a spokesman.

Delays can be as a result of the need for further pathology tests.

An IPCC Spokesman said: “The pathologist’s report will determine whether there are any further lines of enquiry.”
