Pupils drone on about anniversary
CHILDREN at St Helen’s College will not mind someone droning on at them on Friday when they will take to the playground for a commemorative photograph taken by a drone flying overhead.
The novel snapshot is part of 90th anniversary celebrations at the school in Parkway, Hillingdon. The 350 pupils will form a giant numeral ‘90’.
Other events planned for the day include a hat parade for the three to six-year-olds with a St Helen’s theme.
The new Evans Hall dining room will be officially opened by the former headmistress from whom it gets its name, Joan Evans, there will be poetry competition with readings by the seven to 11-year-olds, and former pupils and staff, guests and the school community will gather in a giant marquee in the grounds for a cream tea and champagne reception.
