Ruislip outclassed by early league leaders
THE league table does not lie and Ruislip’s clash with leaders Eton Manor went true to form on Saturday as the early pacesetters showed their class.
Eton have a 100 per cent record in London One North, having won all six of their fixtures so far this season to leave them top of the pile. Ruislip are second from bottom with just one victory to their name so far and this latest defeat, a 45-17 triumph for Manor, came as no surprise.
Saturday sees Ruislip host Brentwood, which should pose a more realistic chance of points than the challenge of the division’s best side this term.
In Herts/Middlesex Two, Ickenham’s dismal start to the campaign as a 43-6 loss at Chess Valley made it three straight defeats for the basement dwellers.
Their opponents this weekend, Hillingdon Abbots, beat Quintin 46-8 to remain top in the standings with three wins from three.
Uxbridge went down 31-5 to West London and will be looking to bounce back against Harlequins Amateurs this Saturday.
And in London Two North West, Old Merchant Taylors’ recorded a 31-25 win over Old Haberdashers and they face a Staines side this weekend, who sit one place and one point above them in second in the table.
