Giving borough pride
HILLINGDON residents will be aiming to make their borough proud at the 2014 Better Club Games on Friday.
The event, aimed at over 55 year olds, will see more than 500 participants from Hillingdon and 16 other London boroughs compete in a range of sports such as badminton, darts, short tennis and timed cycle.
Those events will take place in the Copper Box Arena, which hosted the recent Invictus Games, while the timed swim will be staged at the iconic London Aquatics Centre.
Former Olympic javelin champion Tessa Sanderson, table tennis player Darius Knight and 400m runner Daniel Awde will help host the awards presentation.
The event, held between 10am and 4pm, is open to the public and anyone interested in attending as a spectator should email simon. firstname.lastname@example.org.
