Dozing dozen in Sleep stunt
Group promote November fundraiser
IF YOU were in Uxbridge recently you may have been wondering why 12 people had taken to lying in the street in sleeping bags.
The stunt, organised by Trinity Homeless Projects, was arranged to promote The Big Sleep Out, a fundraising event taking place on November 28 at Hillingdon Athletics Stadium.
Up to 500 people will spend the night sleeping in cardboard boxes, raising money for Trinity’s work with homelessness in Hillingdon.
“Homelessness has increased by more than 300 per cent in the past three years in Hillingdon, which makes this event vital for us as we work with more and more local people journeying back towards fulfilled independent lives” said Andy Robertson, Trinity’s communications manager.
“The Big Sleep Out is an exciting and challenging event which really helps us to empathise with those who find themselves homeless.”
