Inclu-Arts gives everyone a chance

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

INCLU-ARTS was established in 2014 by Sarah Burgum and me, dance and drama specialists and performing arts lecturers at Uxbridge College and Stanmore College.

The aim of the company is to provide dance and drama opportunities for disabled and non-disabled young people and adults.

Both Sarah and I have a strong belief in encouraging and promoting inclusion in performing arts and, with experience in leading inclusive sessions, decided to use our skills to form Inclu-Arts. The sessions will provide dance, drama and performance opportunities.

The company’s mission statement is to provide inclusive performing arts sessions for disabled and non-disabled young people and adults.

It is at Inclu-Arts that creativity and expression are encouraged and the preconceptions of performance are challenged.

The sessions will be launched on Thursday, November 6, from 7pm to 8.30pm at The Studio, in Harefield, and are initially for young people and adults who are 16 and over.

For more information and to sign up to the sessions please email inclu or call me on 07809 374 009.

Sarah and I are also keen to hear from parents/careers who would be interested in a session which is aimed at children and teenagers.
