Groups prepare for festive switch-on
BILLED as ‘the biggest and best annual street party in Hillingdon’, the Christmas lights will be switched on in Northwood Hills on Saturday, November 15.
Organised by Northwood Hills Residents’ Association, and supported by Northwood Hills Chamber of Commerce, Fairfield Church, local shopkeepers, schools and scout groups, the festivities start at 2pm in Joel Street and will feature Christmas carols, school choirs and a brass band, free mulled cider and mince pies plus Santa’s grotto with gifts for young visitors, small fairground rides and a tombola.
The event will culminate in the switching on of the lights by the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Catherine Dann.
Everyone is welcome to join in the fun and admire the newly improved street with its eye-catching mural on the railway bridge and improved street layout.
