Groups pre­pare for fes­tive switch-on

BILLED as ‘the big­gest and best an­nual street party in Hilling­don’, the Christ­mas lights will be switched on in North­wood Hills on Satur­day, Novem­ber 15.

Or­gan­ised by North­wood Hills Res­i­dents’ As­so­ci­a­tion, and sup­ported by North­wood Hills Cham­ber of Com­merce, Fair­field Church, lo­cal shop­keep­ers, schools and scout groups, the fes­tiv­i­ties start at 2pm in Joel Street and will fea­ture Christ­mas car­ols, school choirs and a brass band, free mulled cider and mince pies plus Santa’s grotto with gifts for young vis­i­tors, small fair­ground rides and a tombola.

The event will cul­mi­nate in the switch­ing on of the lights by the Mayor of Hilling­don, Coun­cil­lor Cather­ine Dann.

Ev­ery­one is wel­come to join in the fun and ad­mire the newly im­proved street with its eye-catch­ing mu­ral on the rail­way bridge and im­proved street lay­out.
