Ruthless Abbots tear their neighbours apart
HILLINGDON Abbots remain top of Herts/Middx Two after a resounding 75-0 win over neighbours Ickenham on Saturday.
Elliot Wake opened proceedings with a converted try after 12 minutes before Liam McPherson went over for the first time.
Abbots were relentless in their pursuit of victory and things only got worse for the visitors when they fell further behind through tries from Brett Parnham and McPherson as they hosts led by 26 at the break.
Kyle Buckingham and Neil Gordge further extended the hosts’ lead, with Wake converting both, before centres Dave Francis and Ben Foster got in on the act following exceptional work from Garry Hurrell.
Buckingham, Gordge and Francis then put the icing on the cake as Abbots continued their perfect start with four wins from four.
Man of the match Gordge helped run the show for Abbots, who are at second place London French on Saturday.
In the same division, Uxbridge fell to a 30-12 defeat at Harlequin Amateurs and they will looking to bounce back at home to Thamesians this weekend
Old Merchant Taylors’ fell to a 38-0 defeat at second-placed Staines in London Two North West and they will aim to get back to winning ways against Hemel Hempstead on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Ruislip picked up their second victory of the season with a 39-14 win over Brentwood in London One North and they will be looking to build on that when they travel to Ipswich on Saturday.
