Ruth­less Ab­bots tear their neigh­bours apart

HILLING­DON Ab­bots re­main top of Herts/Middx Two after a re­sound­ing 75-0 win over neigh­bours Ick­en­ham on Satur­day.

El­liot Wake opened pro­ceed­ings with a con­verted try after 12 min­utes be­fore Liam McPher­son went over for the first time.

Ab­bots were re­lent­less in their pur­suit of vic­tory and things only got worse for the vis­i­tors when they fell fur­ther be­hind through tries from Brett Parn­ham and McPher­son as they hosts led by 26 at the break.

Kyle Buck­ing­ham and Neil Gordge fur­ther ex­tended the hosts’ lead, with Wake con­vert­ing both, be­fore cen­tres Dave Fran­cis and Ben Foster got in on the act fol­low­ing ex­cep­tional work from Garry Hur­rell.

Buck­ing­ham, Gordge and Fran­cis then put the ic­ing on the cake as Ab­bots con­tin­ued their per­fect start with four wins from four.

Man of the match Gordge helped run the show for Ab­bots, who are at sec­ond place London French on Satur­day.

In the same di­vi­sion, Uxbridge fell to a 30-12 de­feat at Har­lequin Am­a­teurs and they will look­ing to bounce back at home to Thame­sians this week­end

Old Mer­chant Tay­lors’ fell to a 38-0 de­feat at sec­ond-placed Staines in London Two North West and they will aim to get back to win­ning ways against Hemel Hemp­stead on Satur­day.

Mean­while, Ruis­lip picked up their sec­ond vic­tory of the sea­son with a 39-14 win over Brent­wood in London One North and they will be look­ing to build on that when they travel to Ipswich on Satur­day.
