NEVER FOR­GOT­TEN: Guide to Re­mem­brance ser­vices

RE­MEM­BRANCE Sun­day pa­rades and ser­vices sched­uled to take place on Sun­day, Novem­ber 9, in the bor­ough. Eastcote A pa­rade will move off from Ab­bots­bury Gar­dens, Eastcote at 10.40am and pro­ceed along Field End Road to the Eastcote war memo­rial, near the junc­tion with Deane Croft Road, for a ser­vice which will end at ap­prox­i­mately 11.20am. The pa­rade will re­turn along Field End Road, pass­ing the sa­lut­ing dais, to Ab­bots­bury Gar­dens from where it will be dis­missed.

The Mayor of Hilling­don, Coun­cil­lor Cather­ine Dann, will at­tend the cer­e­mony. Hare­field A ser­vice will be held at 3pm at the war memo­rial on The Green. Har­ling­ton A pa­rade will move off at 10.15am from the 1st Har­ling­ton Scout head­quar­ters, High Street, for a ser­vice at St Peter and St Paul’s Church, fol­lowed by a short ser­vice at the war memo­rial in the church­yard. Hayes A pa­rade will as­sem­ble in Barra Hall Park, off Church Road, at 9am, close to the band stand. It will move off at 9.15am for a ser­vice of re­mem­brance in St Mary’s Church, Church Road.

The ser­vice will com­mence at 9.45am, fol­lowed by a short act of re­mem­brance at the war memo­rial at the cor­ner of the church­yard at 11am.

There will be a ser­vice of re­mem­brance at the Church of the Im­mac­u­late Heart of Mary, Botwell Lane, at 10am. Hilling­don A pa­rade will march off from Hilling­don fire sta­tion, Uxbridge Road, at 10.30am to at­tend a short ser­vice and wreath lay­ing at the war memo­rial in the church yard of St John’s Bap­tist Church, Hilling­don Hill at 10.50am.

There will be an act of re­mem­brance at the memo­rial at 11am, fol­lowed by a church ser­vice.

North­wood A pa­rade will meet at the North­wood war memo­rial in Green Lane at 10.30am, then a ser­vice of re­mem­brance will be con­ducted at 10.45am. Ruis­lip At 10.25am a pa­rade will march off from the bus sta­tion out­side Ruis­lip sta­tion to ar­rive for a 10.45am ser­vice of re­mem­brance at the war memo­rial at the Manor Farm com­plex in Bury Street. The ser­vice will be con­ducted by The Rt Rev Pete Broad­bent, Bishop of Willes­den.

There will also be a 30-minute ser­vice at the Pol­ish War Memo­rial in West End Road start­ing 10.30am. Uxbridge There will be an all-age, civic pa­rade ser­vice at St Mar­garet’s Church, Wind­sor Street at 9.30am fol­lowed by a pa­rade and act of re­mem­brance at 10.50am at the Uxbridge Peace Memo­rial on Mah­jacks Round­about. West Dray­ton/Yiewsley A pa­rade will as­sem­ble out­side West Dray­ton li­brary in Sta­tion Road at 10am and march through High Street to St Matthew’s Church, High Street, Yiewsley, for a 10.30am ser­vice fol­lowed by lay­ing an act of re­mem­brance at the war memo­rial in the church gar­dens at 11am.
