Tribute to church 30 years on
NEARLY three decades after the Harefield Methodist Church was demolished, a plaque has finally been unveiled to recall where it once stood.
Last month, a small group of local people gathered to remember the church, which was demolished in 1985 having fallen into disrepair, to make way for flats.
The plaque, donated by Mark and Karen Gill of Grimstead Funeral Directors, Harefield, was unveiled by the Rev Nick Skelding, minister of Christ Church in Uxbridge.
The afternoon then continued with refreshments at the nearby Harefield Baptist church where guests shared memories and photographs from their time at the old Methodist church.
