A WOMAN who has lost more than seven stones is looking forward to this Christmas party season more than most after being crowned the borough’s Miss Slinky 2014.

Michelle Bradford has dropped six dress sizes since January and was given the accolade by fellow slimmers at her weight loss group in Uxbridge.

She said: “When I was bigger I was really unhappy. I didn’t like what I saw when I looked in the mirror. I hated shopping for clothes and I felt self-conscious most of the time.

“Things are completely different now and I feel much more confident than I used to, I never thought anyone would ever describe me as ‘slinky’ so it’s just incredible.”

In February, Public Health England named Hillingdon as the London borough with the highest amount of overweight and obese people.

It said almost 70 per cent of the borough’s people had a body mass index of 25 or higher.

But Miss Bradford, who weighed 18st 3.5lbs and wore a dress size 20 at her heaviest, is now 11 stone and a dress size 10/12, after joining a Slimming World group in Uxbridge.

It meets at Swakeleys School in Clifton Gardens, Uxbridge, every Tuesday at 7pm. For more information call Sue on 01895 823 312.
