THE voice of the community has spoken and a care centre has been awarded a £3,000 grant from Lloyds Bank to continue its good work.

The Community Cancer Centre, in West Drayton, was earmarked for the windfall in the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014 following a public vote.

The centre, in Fairfield Road, provides support for cancer patients, their carers and anyone who is affected by cancer, including befriending support, complementary therapies such as reflexology, massage and yoga, as well as counselling, workshops and social groups.

Centre manager Bren Fisher said: “The award will make such a difference, by enabling enhancement of the existing and new services we provide, which will make an incredible difference in improving the quality of life and wellbeing for those affected by cancer.”
