Foot­baller trib­ute to teenager

A TEENAGER who died after col­laps­ing in the intu Uxbridge car park re­ceived a trib­ute from her favourite foot­ball team on Satur­day.

QPR (Queens Park Rangers Foot­ball Club) striker Charlie Austin ded­i­cated his win­ning goal to 19-year-old Alice Brooks, who had died hours be­fore.

She col­lapsed in the multi-storey car park of intu Uxbridge shop­ping cen­tre in the town cen­tre on Tues­day, Novem­ber 25, at about 4pm.

Paramedics from London Am­bu­lance Ser­vice were called to the scene and treated Miss Brooks be­fore she was trans­ferred to hos­pi­tal in a crit­i­cal con­di­tion.

She died in the early hours of Satur­day, Novem­ber 29.

After Satur­day’s game, Austin gave an in­ter­view which was later posted on the QPR Face­book page.

In the trib­ute, the foot­baller ded­i­cated his goal to Alice and also to another fan who had died dur­ing the same week.

The cir­cum­stances of Miss Brook’s death are the sub­ject of an en­quiry by the Met Po­lice, the Health and Safety Ex­ec­u­tive and Hilling­don Coun­cil.
