Footballer tribute to teenager
A TEENAGER who died after collapsing in the intu Uxbridge car park received a tribute from her favourite football team on Saturday.
QPR (Queens Park Rangers Football Club) striker Charlie Austin dedicated his winning goal to 19-year-old Alice Brooks, who had died hours before.
She collapsed in the multi-storey car park of intu Uxbridge shopping centre in the town centre on Tuesday, November 25, at about 4pm.
Paramedics from London Ambulance Service were called to the scene and treated Miss Brooks before she was transferred to hospital in a critical condition.
She died in the early hours of Saturday, November 29.
After Saturday’s game, Austin gave an interview which was later posted on the QPR Facebook page.
In the tribute, the footballer dedicated his goal to Alice and also to another fan who had died during the same week.
The circumstances of Miss Brook’s death are the subject of an enquiry by the Met Police, the Health and Safety Executive and Hillingdon Council.
