Not ‘fake’ to want best for Heathrow

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

ON WEDNESDAY, December 3, I was at the Airports Commission’s public evidence session at the Park Inn at Heathrow.

The event was a well-balanced debate between those who oppose expansion as well as people, like me, who are keen for Heathrow to grow and for our local community to prosper.

As a supporter of the Back Heathrow campaign, I was really disappointed to hear some people referring to me and other supporters as ‘fake’.

I have lived and worked in Hillingdon for over 15 years and in the Heathrow area for over 30 years, and like a majority of local residents who live and work here, I appreciate the huge benefits that Heathrow brings.

Expansion is vital for our local communities, no matter how much those who oppose it and try to shout us down. BARRY NELSON WEST Midhurst Gardens
