Man verbally abused on Tube
Search for woman in homophobic attack
WOMAN is wanted by police after launching a homophobic attack on a man travelling on the tube in Northwood.
British Transport Police (BTP) officers are calling on the public for help to identify a woman from CCTV images taken at Northwood station, off Green Lane.
A 23-year-old man was subjected to a verbal tirade by the woman on Friday, November 14.
PC Natalie Fairhurst said: “The victim was travelling on the Metropolitan line between Baker Street and Northwood London Underground stations.
“As the train approached Northwood, a woman opposite the man began shouting foulmouthed homophobic abuse at him.
A“She followed the victim off the train, haranguing him all the way to the station exit.”
Officers have examined CCTV from the station and identified a woman
TJG1ST who they think has important information about the incident.
PC Fairhurst said: “This abuse was entirely unprovoked and completely unacceptable.
“BTP is committed to ensuring the rail network remains a safe environment where all passengers and staff are treated with respect.
“We treat hate crime very seriously and will do everything in our power to find the person responsible.
“I think the woman in the image we are issuing today can help with our investigation.”
