Benyon signs up
HAYES & Yeading have followed the loan capture of midfielder Wes Daly with another loan signing – that of striker Elliott Benyon.
Benyon started his career with Bristol City before dropping into the Conference with Torquay, helping the Gulls win the FA Trophy as well as promotion back to the Football League.
Spells with Wycombe, Swindon and Southend followed before a return to Torquay, where he has scored more than 50 goals, in 2013, following a loan spell back with his former club.
This follows the capture of 30-year-old Daly, on a season-long loan from Hemel Hempstead, Matty Harriott going in the opposite direction.
Daly made his United debut in the 1-1 draw against landlords Maidenhead on New Year’s Day, while Benyon made his bow in Sunday’s 4-2 defeat at Havant & Waterlooville.
In the same division, Wealdstone made it four draws in a row, but also 11 games unbeaten, as they followed their New Year’s Day 1-1 draw with Sutton United by holding Hemel to a 2-2 draw at the weekend.
Stones host Bath City in the FA Trophy second round on Saturday while H&Y visit Bishop’s Stortford in Conference South.
