Top award for new West Dray­ton de­vel­op­ment

DIn­land Homes has won a na­tional award ‘Best Land­scape De­sign’ at its Dray­ton Gar­den Vil­lage de­vel­op­ment. EVELOPER In­land Homes is cel­e­brat­ing after be­ing awarded Sil­ver for ‘Best Land­scape De­sign’ in a high-pro­file na­tional com­pe­ti­tion for its Dray­ton Gar­den Vil­lage de­vel­op­ment, along the Cross­rail route in West Dray­ton, Mid­dle­sex.

The win was an­nounced in front of more than 1,600 con­struc­tion in­dus­try pro­fes­sion­als from across the UK at the What House? awards at London’s Grosvenor House at the end of Novem­ber last year.

The award is the lat­est in a string of na­tional ac­co­lades for In­land Homes’ pi­o­neer­ing 779-home com­mu­nity dur­ing 2014.The de­vel­op­ment will be lo­cated just along the Cross­rail route from Eal­ing, which is due to be­come op­er­a­tional in late 2019.

Dray­ton Gar­den Vil­lage has also won ‘Highly Com­mended’ in

Bri­tish Homes Awards for De­vel­op­ment of the Year (over 100 houses), Best Re­gen­er­a­tion Project at The House­builder Awards and De­vel­op­ment of the Year (51-plus units) at The Bricks Awards.

Stephen Wicks, chief ex­ec­u­tive at In­land Homes, said: “Dray­ton Gar­den Vil­lage is a fan­tas­tic ex­am­ple of a brown­field site be­ing trans­formed into a thriv­ing com­mu­nity of sus­tain­able homes in a beau­ti­fully land­scaped set­ting. It was thrilling to win Sil­ver at th­ese es­teemed awards, es­pe­cially after all our other com­men­da­tions this year, and we were de­lighted to learn that the judges found the de­vel­op­ment as ex­cit­ing as we do.”

Dray­ton Gar­den Vil­lage trumped de­vel­op­ments across the UK for its in­spi­ra­tional land­scape de­sign.The vil­lage, which is lo­cated on a 31-acre site, for­merly RAF West Dray­ton, in Hilling­don, Mid­dle­sex, has been planned by In­land Homes to in­clude large amounts of open, out­door space, in­clud­ing vil­lage greens with sea­son­althemed play ar­eas, av­enues land­scaped by trees and hedgerows and houses with good-sized gar­dens.
