More young mug­gles can be en­chanted by Harry

AN EVENING of spells and magic as well as craft ac­tiv­i­ties and quizzes will take place at li­braries around Hilling­don next week when it hosts a Harry Pot­ter Book Night.

The event has been or­gan­ised by the books’ pub­lish­ers Blooms­bury, to give fans of J.K. Rowl­ing’s se­ries a chance to share the won­der, and in­tro­duce the next gen­er­a­tion of young Mug­gles to the world of Hog­warts and Harry Pot­ter.

The Hilling­don events take place at six of the bor­ough’s li­braries on Thurs­day next week.

Ac­tiv­i­ties kick-off at Yead­ing Li­brary, in Yead­ing Lane, when it hosts a two-hour ses­sion which will be at­tended by char­ac­ters from the books. Those present will also be given a magic po­tion to help their health and well be­ing.

This will be fol­lowed by a cre­ate a spell and craft ses­sion at Oak Farm li­brary in Sut­ton Court Road. This takes place at 3.45pm and is suit­able for kids be­tween seven and 10. Book­ing is re­quired. And later that day four li­braries will host mag­i­cal craft ac­tiv­i­ties and quizzes for fans of the school boy wizard and his friends.

Th­ese take place at North­wood Hills, West Dray­ton, Ick­en­ham and Hare­field Li­braries from 4pm to 5.30pm, and are also aimed at kids be­tween the years of seven and 10. All events are free. See www.hilling­ events for book­ings.
