Lewis denies Gulls links FOOTBALL
HAYES & Yeading assistant manager Tristan Lewis has rubbished reports linking him with a takeover of Torquay United.
Lewis (pictured) was a guest in the directors’ box last week as the Gulls were beaten 2-1 at Altrincham and was in Devon for a meeting at the club on Wednesday.
Torquay chairwoman Thea Bristow led the proceedings and former Oxford chief Kelvin Thomas has been brought in to oversee a new direction for the Plainmoor outfit.
However, Lewis is only playing a minor role in the changes to be made by the Gulls and is not on the brink of making a financial investment into the Conference Premier side.
“I was asked to come in and look at the education and academy structure over a three-week period,” he said.
“The people who are doing the educational stuff are the same people who do that at Hayes & Yeading so people have connected that and got it wrong.”
