AN Uxbridge dad-ofthree who nearly decapitated a prostitute has been sentenced to life imprisonment for her murder.

Michael Wenham will serve a minimum 26 years behind bars for what a judge at Reading Crown Court described as a ‘callous and brutal’ killing.

The trial heard he had been coming down from medication from a botched penis enlargement operation in the United States when he attacked Polish sex worker Karolina Nowikiewicz, 25, at a flat in Slough in February last year.

He phoned police and his wife to confess to the killing, but in court denied murder and admitted to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibilities.

But after a jury found him guilty on Wednesday, a judge said 36-year-old Wenham may never be released from the prison, before adding: “You must have carried out this dreadful murder in order to gain some sadistic pleasure or from it.”

During the eight-day trial, it emerged the IT consultant, who lived in Collingwood Road, had taken his wife to a

satisfaction swingers party and fantasised over her having sex with larger-endowed men.

He had undergone penis enlargement surgery which went wrong and left him with a much reduced manhood.

Much of the evidence centred on Wenham’s mental state at the time of the brutal attack, with psychologists for both the prosecution and defence debating whether the drugs he had taken following his botched operation could have led to homicidal tendencies.

He had purchased a Stanley knife, bags and gloves from a Screwfix in West Drayton on the day of the attack, on February 17, before killing student Miss Nowikiewicz, who had turned to prostitution to pay for her studies.

In a statement released after the guilty verdict, the victim’s family said: “Karolina should be alive. She had the right to live, however someone, Michael Wenham, took that choice away from her.

“Her death has brought great sorrow to her family. Karolina wanted to live, yet she will never get a chance to.”
