MPs should set a better example

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

IS Johnson Fit to be MP?

In the same week you print a picture of Boris Johnson surrounded by innocent primary school children in a Hillingdon school, the national and London papers have printed a shameful picture of Johnson posing with an AK47 automatic weapon in Kurdistan region of Iraq.

One would hope that the person who will be an MP again in May should be setting a better example to the very young of this borough that guns kill often innocent children all over the world!

The other interesting point about Johnson’s world bid to become leader of the Tory party is his lack of interest in Uxbridge. In December he declined an invitation to open the new ‘Acute Medical Unit’ at Hillingdon Hospital which of course is in the constituency he will be representing after May.

This would be more surprising until you realise that the January copy of ‘Uxbridge & South Ruislip in Touch’ circular from the local Tories very expensive election campaign, there is not one mention of the NHS!

Still when you select a candidate who supports train link HS2 in direct opposition to the claimed position of local Tories, you should not be surprised.
