Dental kits destroyed

Harefield Gazette - - NEWS -

THOUSANDS of teethwhitening kits with the potential to cause gum and mouth blisters were seized in Hillingdon.

Hillingdon Council’s trading standards team secured a court order for the forfeiture and destruction of more than 12,000 products at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on January 27.

The products – worth more than £500,000 – were seized from a Sipson home. Officers were tipped off in May by a resident who allowed Piotr Kaszubski, to store products at his home, with a view to selling them with him. The products contained 5.9% hydrogen peroxide, meaning they could only be supplied to dental practitioners, the limit for consumer products being 0.1%.

Officers found the goods were being supplied online.

Mr Kaszubski has returned to his native Poland.
