A MAN has been charged with the murder of a 25-year-old woman in Hayes.
Billy White, 22, of Pinkwell Lane, Hayes, was remanded in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday. He is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey today (Wednesday) for a bail hearing, followed by a plea and case management hearing on March 23.
The victim was named in the charge as Lucy Ayris.
White was charged on Sunday after an investigation by officers from the Metropolitan Police’s homicide and major crime command. Police were called at 5.10am on Saturday, following reports of a woman suffering stab wounds at a home in Pinkwell Lane.
Officers, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended.
The victim was pronounced dead at hospital shortly before 6.30am.
A post-mortem examination at Uxbridge mortuary on Saturday gave the cause of death as a stab injury.
Next of kin have been informed, but formal identification awaits.
White faces a second, unrelated charge of committing criminal damage and obstructing a police officer on November 8.
