Looking for young leaders to tackle Snowdonia
THE Rotary Club of Uxbridge are looking for young people to take part in a challenging and rewarding course in Snowdonia.
The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is open to people aged 18-25 and is fully sponsored by the Rotary Club. It includes a day of team building, followed by two days of learning new skills such as orienteering, rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing and slate mine exploration, and finishes with 30 hour group challenge.
Rotary Club President, Mike Crane, said: “For some this may sound a daunting prospect, but for those with leadership potential in their blood this is a great opportunity.
“The Club has sponsored at least one young person to attend the course each year, but believe it or not we sometimes struggle to find a suitable candidate.”
The course will run from 25th July – 1st August. No previous experience is required and specialist equipment is supplied. To apply for the award, send a CV and a paragraph on why you’d like to go to Rotarian Simon Nash: nash50@ btinternet.com by 30th April 2015.
