Bruiser Todd is down but not out and looking for a new home
THE RSPCA Hillingdon, Slough, Windsor, Kingston, District clinic has served our community loyally since the time of the Second World War.
Not only do we provide veterinary care for pets whose owners are unable to afford it, we also help abandoned and unwanted animals.
Over time more animal charities have sprung up – some higher profile – but none cater for all animals and have a trained army of uniformed officers in the field, seeking out cruelty.
The first week of June is a chance to celebrate all things RSPCA.
At RSPCA Week (June 1 to 7) we are inviting the community to spare a little time to help us. You can organise your own fundraiser, collect amongst family and friends or at work. Local suffering animals need you.
One such animal is Lady, a nine month old female brindle whippet.
What a sad puppyhood for this little girl, kept outdoors and bullied by other dogs. Her distressed barking annoyed the neighbours so much, she was eventually signed over into our care.
Lady is a very gentle and affectionate dog, who loves cuddles.
She can be a little nervous of new things and people at first and does need to catch up with some of the puppy socialisation she has missed.
However, she is great with other dogs, good on the lead and in the car and likes her toys (and stealing shoes according to her foster mum!) – just a little more work needed on housetraining. We are looking for a home, ideally with experience of the breed, where Lady can grow into adulthood enjoying all the fun, love and training every puppy deserves.
Can you offer our sweet Lady the loving care, attention and home comforts she has missed out on so far in life?
Strawberry (white) and Bluebell (albino) are two very sweet girls hoping to find a lovely home together.
Like all rabbits, they will require a large, spacious hutch and a generous sized run with plenty of room to play, stretch and exercise. With lots of love and attention these would be two very happy bunnies.
Can you offer a forever home to our lovely girls please? Thank you for your support …. We can’t do it without you.
If you think you can offer one of our animals a loving home then please ring RSPCA Hillingdon Branch on 01895 833417 OOKING to donate your furniture to charity? We’ll collect it for free. We want your unwanted goods! By donating your furniture, you will save it from a life of dust, find it a new home, and help provide care for abandoned and abused animals in the local area.
We will arrange free collection of your furniture. We just ask that it’s in sellable condition. You can donate sofas, lounge furniture, dining tables, chairs, beds and all bedroom furniture.
No job is too big or too small for our furniture collection. Please call them on 0753 144 6830 if you have something to donate. All profits will go to help fund the veterinary treatment and care of locally abandoned and abused animals, like Todd.
Todd was signed over to an RSPCA Inspector after his owners failed to get veterinary help for his badly broken leg.
“The poor fellow was hopping around for over a week with it, so must have been in the most excruciating agony,” says or visit our website www. rspcahillingdonclinic.org. uk to download an application form. Animal Welfare Officer, Sarah Parkes. “Sadly his leg was beyond repair so we had to amputate, but he is already a lot more comfortable and happy.”
It is going to take Todd a little while to get used to hopping around on three pins, but it is amazing how resilient cats are and in no time at all he will be skipping about without a care in the world.
Todd might look a bit grumpy in his photo, but he really is a friendly chap, it’s just that our cattery isn’t his favourite place to stay. He just needs to get back into a home environment.
“He is a real chunky monkey, with a few war wounds from rucking over the ladies (he also wasn’t neutered till he came to us) but these are just added character. Todd really deserves a chance of a bit of happiness, he is looking for a quiet-ish home with older children, as the only pet, in a quiet area where he can have a garden to mooch about in and soak up the sun,” says Sarah.
If you would like to adopt Todd, please call 020 8966 9688 or email email@example.com. uk. Our friendly Animal Welfare Team are waiting for your call.
