Please don’t fall for Gatwick’s spin

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION -

WE have become aware of the fact that Gatwick are sending out 400,000 leaflets to the communities around Heathrow proposing to be the better option for airport expansion.

We know local views are divided on Heathrow but we would urge people not to fall for Gatwick’s spin.

We are outraged by Mr Wingate’s words but are not surprised as during the Airports Commission consultation Gatwick’s Senior PR executive wrote to Heathrow area councils offering them assistance to in completing the consultation in favour Gatwick.

Some may simply see this as two commercial companies battling it out but Heathrow has not played so dirty as the ‘jack the lad’ from West Sussex.

Heathrow are in for the long haul whereas Gatwick only seeks to sell as soon as they have planning.

If Mr Wingate, truly believes what he said ‘rely on the community groups and business groups to reproduce the voice of the people’
