A FORMER chartered accountant has changed career paths to launch a rock and pop school in Ickenham.

Pritpal Chitroda had also previously worked in large multinational organisations including Warner Brothers, Virgin Hotels and Staples, but wanted to spend more time with her family.

She will launch The Rock Project franchise at Vyners School Academy Trust, in Warren Road, in June, running two classes every Thursday – one for juniors, which will run from 4.15pm to 6.15pm, and one for seniors, running from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Students aged between seven and 18 will be taught to sing and play various musical instruments, ranging from electric guitars to bass guitars and drums, all of which will be supplied.

Mrs Chitroda said: “My ambition and overall aim is to open schools in other areas of Greater London in the next few months.

“The schools are a great way of bringing young people who enjoy music together within the community.”

The Rock Project was founded in 2005 and now has more than 30 franchises throughout the UK.
